The Devils Dosh was a short film I worked at as the continuity script supervisor this summer.  I spent 10 days in London at the 3 Mills Studio. It was a 35mm shoot with set constructions and a professional crew.  Overall its the best and most professional shoot I’ve been on; professional because of the equipment and the high standards of the production overall. And the best (*the most fun) because of the people I worked with whilst there.

I helped out on a set called 24 Weekers this summer.  A trailer was made to raise money to make a feature length version of the film, the film is being made to raise awareness of babies being born 24 Weeks into pregnancy.

It’s funny how much of a small world it is – especially in film making – the DOP (Cinematographer) of the 24 Weekers set was the Gaffer in my short film Killing Off Eve.  And some of the camera crew have worked with my boyfriend previously. I feel as if at some point I’ll work with everyone I’ve worked with before again (but I guess that England is a small place).

I have this idea, which I got from someone else about making music videos to make a profit. Currently I’m making no money (I’m a student :) !  I was thinking about making a music video for a friend and if that goes well then advertise around the clubs and recording studios (there’s lot of recording studios here in Liverpool – thanks to the Beatles I guess). I’ve been having a look around the web for inspiration and thought id share some of my favourite music videos here:

A list of rules that I follow whilst making films and working on film sets:

1.Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself

Getting to the top jobs in show business is difficult –It’s like you have to climb up a steep pyramid and it seems everyone is rushing to the top after you, you have no choice but to stand on some people along the way to keep yourself up. The saying– Be careful how you treat people on your way up, because you might meet them again on your way down- is very true when it comes to show business; you might have overnight success but it won’t last forever.

New film script almost done

I’ve had a month to write the 1st draft of my next short film. I’ve been pretty lazy with writing spending most of my time just daydreaming about what to write about. I have an idea down about a drugged up woman and her drug dealing guardian angel – a love story with life messages in it – I hope it’s tasteful.

I start University tomorrow studying World cinema, Film drama and a dissertation piece. I want to do a film as part of my dissertation and change drama to animation. I hope I get my own way. I can be pretty stubborn; I know what I want to study and do this year. The film drama classes are pretty strict on what films you make and I don’t want to be forced to do a 5minute student horror film for my final years work.
